* LET'S MAKE LONDON GREENER, HEALTHIER AND WILDER

This year London will be declared the world’s first National Park City in celebration of its amazing outdoors. To mark this, there will be nine days of free events for the National Park City Festival - from pedal-powered film screenings to open-air theatre and wildlife photography.

To mark the occasion, in Walthamstow we are part of a celebratory event from 11am until 4.15pm. The day will see a collection of stalls showcasing outdoor activities for people to get involved in and there will be an array of fast-paced talks to inspire people to take a different view of London’s urban environment and get out and about more. There will be opportunities to create artworks and, if you’re game, to get your hands muddy! National Park City Makers will be on hand throughout the day to answer any questions you have about the National Park City.

Speakers will be imagining a greener, healthier and wilder London. Each talk will ask ‘What if?’ For example, what if the City was Edible, Skateable, Playable, What if we had more Green Walls, What if we had outdoor libraries? And what if these ideas weren't just in our imagination but just around the corner?

Leave the event with a new view of London, how to get more involved and how to make a difference!

Confirmed speakers include; The Conservation Volunteers, London Wild Fruits, Quantum Landscapes, Surfers Against Sewage, London National Park City, LLoyd Park Community Gardeners, Ever Better Sport, Lloyd Park Skaters

The event is open to all and free. Just turn up to visit the stalls and take part in activities. There will be three sessions of talks, with 5 talks in each and all different across the day. Advanced booking for these is advised, though half of tickets will be reserved for walk-ins on the day. Use the link below to book talks. Speaker Topics are described in the ticket description on Eventbrite.
