Case Study
Ludlow & Thompson Community Garden, Dulwich
Quantum Landscapes were briefed to transform the derelict space, at the back of Ludlow and Thompson estate agent's office on the thoroughfare of Lordship Lane, into a tranquil garden for the local community to relax and enjoy. It was launched at the 2022 Dulwich Festival.

The Challenge
Previously unused and overgrown, the space had to be cleared before work could commence. This revealed existing features that had to be incorporated into the design to maximise the result, instead of hindering the design.
The Solution
Quantum Landscapes drew up this 3D design - viewable from all angles - to eradicate any incongruences before commencing work, and to ensure customer satisfaction with the end result.

The Result
Visually aesthetic and scented garden with obscure heirloom varieties of herbs to enhance enjoyment while unwinding in an urban garden oasis.
Garden Storage
• Planters with inbuilt seating and storage space to maximise the garden aesthetics, providing hidden space for garden tools.
• Raised planters to take the backache out of garden maintenance.
• Bespoke soils specific to the local environment to enhance plant growth and to reduce the cost of failures.

Green Walls
• Living green walls to conceal prominent brick walls, with inbuilt and automated irrigation systems to minimise the labour of watering while on holiday, or during heatwaves when extra care is a necessity.
• Trial of Shrubsys Technologies to reduce air pollutants in the local environment, further enhancing health and wellbeing.
